Mine is still working, but the battery life is now measured in minutes (less than five) compared to before.

Steve this is an excellent review and if Alison thinks it is great and she is such an avid book lover then it must be!
I think I will ask DH to get me the wi fi and 3G with keyboard. I am so excited!

I was tempted by that offer, but was totally undecided over this vs. the BlackBerry Playbook, which is somewhat nicer to use, in my opinion. Still tablet-less, but can see the value. Maybe someday?

A bit delayed but catching up on my blog reading today. Saw this on Twitter and chuckled out loud (although i can imagine your frustrations dealing with their customer service). So infuriating (and would make me think twice about buying that brand)….

Steve-if I remember correctly I first came across Steely Dan when some of their album tracks (I don’t recall which ones) where played by Derek Jewell who at the time had a programme on Radio 3 – the only programme on that station that played pop/rock music to my knowledge, though I forget the title of it. Also where I first heard Billy Joel.
I see you also like Sheryl Crowe. First heard her on Radio 1′s Saturday Sequence when Johnnie Walker played tracks from Tuesday Night Music Club. I bought the CD is Chesterfield of all places – I just happened to be killing time before a meeting, I lived in Beverley at the time. Andy

Great post! I use Skype a lot. When it’s just one-on-one, I use a headset/mic combination, but often I’ll be at a board meeting and we need to bring someone in via Skype so I have a separate mic (Snowball) and an external USB speaker. This set up works well as we can hear the other party(ies) in the meeting room and they can hear us all. Very rarely do we get any boom or echo/feedback. I do worry about the settings but I usually just let Skype do the work.

Thanks for the review – really useful and some-thing that I will look into. Our little ones love looking at photos and I like the idea of a slideshow on TV. Unfortunately we have a real broadband speed issue right now (long story, local campaign including MP being involved – so can’t even stream You Tube in our house!!!). If we get the issue resolved I like the idea of streaming ITunes movies etc.
